The Studio 

The Viavattine Music Studio is a warm and welcoming place. The studio is beautiful and comfortable with two fireplaces, a leather sofa, a four foot bean bag chair and a big basket of slippers. From the moment you step foot in the door, you feel like you are home. And in such a lovely environment, our students can let their guard down and make beautiful music.

At the Viavattine Studio, your lessons will be completely personalized. You will be challenged and yet supported. Your preferences will be heard and yet you will be guided. You will have fun and work hard, and you will leave wanting to come back soon.

The studio is centrally located in the historic Piano Works Mall in East Rochester. The entire building has been renovated and has successfully created a feeling of respecting the past while embracing the future. The Piano Works Mall is conveniently located off the expressway and has ample, well-lit parking.

The Viavattine Studio is the largest private music studio in the Rochester area and we would love to have you join our family.

When you arrive at the studio, come right in! Our suite has 2 rooms, so students can warm up and get ready for a great lesson.

During your lesson, you can expect be encouraged and challenged.

Parent’s of kids of all ages are highly encouraged to stay and participate in the lessons.

What instruments do you teach?

Our studio specializes in piano, flute, saxophone, clarinet and cello.

What is the best age for a child to begin piano lessons?

That’s a great question! The answer is, it depends on the child. Generally speaking, lots of kids are ready around age 5. But, a five year old’s lesson will be a lot different from that of an older beginner.

What can parents expect during lessons?

Parents are whole-heartedly invited to stay during their kid’s lessons. First, it’s important to have all of us on the same team. Second, parents will introduced to all of the musical content of the lesson. That way, you can support your child and share in their joy.

Do you have recitals?

We sure do...but we really hate that word. So, we have parties instead. Our performances feel a lot more like celebrations!

Do you prepare students for competitions and auditions?

Yes...

and with great results, we might add.

Do you also travel to people’s homes for lessons?

No, and with good reason. The studio is a dedicated space for music making. There is a beautiful, well-maintained grand piano and there are zero distractions. Take it from someone who used to travel to people’s homes, it’s not the same. Not even close. Our studio is worth the car ride.

Do you accept adult students?

Absolutely! Our adult clientele is the fastest growing section of the studio. Our adult students bring a special kind of passion and dedication to their lessons.

Am I too old to begin?

Haha, nope!
